What camera do you use?
I use the Canon 5D Mark ii which I upgraded from the Canon 7D that I upgraded from the Canon t1i that I upgraded from the Canon Rebel XT.
What lens do you use?
50mm 1.2 primarily although I do have the 28 - 135mm zoom lens it sits in my camera bag 99% of the time.
Can you tell me how to expand the frame?

It’s simply a matter of flipping the camera into manual focus once you get your primary shot and panning the camera left, down, up, and right overlapping the photos so you have something to build off of later. Then in Photoshop, you layer the photos on top of each other and use layer masking to erase away the edges and unwanted details.
Where do you find legit magazines and contests to enter your photos in?
Google mostly. Friends or friends of friends. And sometimes they even find me!
How do you write to magazines?
I just send them an email essentially saying “Hey, can I be in your magazine?”

When did you start photography?
June 2010
Did you go to school or are you self taught?
I am both self taught photography and Photoshop through reading magazines, googling tutorials, and good old fashioned trial and error.
Do you do photography full time?
I currently work full time in an operating room but someday hope to be able to follow my dream of being an artist.
How do you keep your camera dry when shooting in the rain?
I cut a hole in the corner of a ziplock back just enough to push the end of the lens through!
How do you take your self portraits? Do you have any help?
All of my self portraits are taken by me and me alone with a tripod and remote.
Where do you get your prints printed?
I used to used mpix.com but was unimpressed by their quality so I’m currently switching over to whcc.com
When is the time of the day you usually take photos?
Right after the sun sets when the light is perfect and even and diffused. I did a natural lighting tutorial here:

How did you get on a book cover?
I license my photos through a stock agency that works with publishing companies to facilitate that.

How is Getty images?
I’ve never worked with them but I hear their payout for photographer is terrible. (30/70) Find someone that would give you 50/50.
